I would like to know exactly what has happened to the Republican Party. I
thought they were in favor of smaller government but their actions say
otherwise. Research into alternative energy sources should be done privately
and thus bring about free enterprise. Government officials and big corporations
have repeatedly rendered null any chance for true free enterprise and also have
consistently been against small business in recent times. Free enterprise has
been thwarted time and time again by politicians and corporations. What has
happened to Henry Ford, Preston Tucker, alternative energy sources and high gas
prices? All prime examples of government and large corporations working
together.
History also proves the bad connection between government and large
corporations. If you look at the Exxon Valdez incident Exxon spent very little
on the clean up leaving the majority to the public when it was their
responsibility. If Bush were in any other occupation his association with the
oil companies would be considered a conflict of interest. If the energy
situation were as bad as Bush and the oil company executives would have the
public believe then the profits would be in proportion and remain close to what
they were getting and not skyrocketing as they are!!!
Clearly Bush and the Republican Party has been against the working people of America
and small business and the proof of this has been the situation with the
sbaexchange program being cancelled when a rich corporate friend of the head of
the SBA (Small Business Administration) could not get his hands on funds going
through the system. Saying Bush is not helping Americans is an understatement
at best. Bush’s administration claimed that profits from the oil from Iraq
would be used to defray the costs of the war but he has allowed himself and the
CEO’s sky high profits. This administration is doing a very good job of doing
away with the middle class and adding more and more families to the lists of
the working poor and placing the blame on other things like the war. If we send
our military in we need attitudes like Nixon had in Vietnam
and not the political correctness we have today. Clearly the leader of Iran
is aware of attitudes and political correctness and wants nuclear power for
their own protection because the USA
has shown so much weakness and can not be trusted to help if needed. We need to
take possession of the oil wells and be strong and gain their respect not so
called “friendship” under political correctness otherwise we will always
lose!!! We should never have given back the oil wells in Desert Storm!!!
Conspiracy theorists can conjuncture that the Bush administration plotted with
the oil companies and the governments in the Middle East
and started a war so that they all can heavily profit and thus the first step
in making a world of two classes the rich and the poor. It seems Bush wants the
USA made in the
image of a 3rd world country and seems to be doing an excellent job
in making it come about.
When Henry Ford originally made his Model T it was designed to run on ethanol
which the big oil companies fought tooth and nail against. If this country were
a free enterprise why can’t I decide to buy a car that runs on ethanol? The oil
companies should pay to convert my car over since their profits are so high. If
there was a chance that the oil supply was going to run out then logically speaking
the oil companies would start alternative energy research so that they could be
in on the profits.
Does the government also have scientists as well as large corporations under
their belts claiming global warming is from this, that, and the other? The
truth seems that politicians and corporate spokespersons believe people are
like mushrooms and feeding the public so much rhetoric that it pollutes the
atmosphere. The majority of people are not mushrooms as believed and unable to
absorb any of the rhetoric that comes out of politicians and corporate
spokespersons mouths and thus poisoning the air and causing global
warming.
All that I can ask is that “WE THE PEOPLE” no longer be treated like mushrooms
being kept in the dark and fed lots of rhetoric hoping we will buy this and
that situation is good for the country when in reality it is only good for the
wealthy. This is why most people stopped voting and stopped caring because they
feel it is useless. There is a misconception amongst DC residents that taxation
without representation is a bad thing when history and recent events prove that
it is actually worse with representation if you see how politicians and
corporations work so closely together. Our politicians also sold our country
out with workers rights when NAFTA was signed sending good paying American jobs
to corrupt nations which this once great country is quickly getting more and
more corrupt like Mexico and any other 3rd world country!!!
When Nixon was president things were not as bad for the working poor. When
Reagan took over and made the first Social Security benefits cut when he took
the cost of housing out of the cost of living. Before Reagan you could work at
a McQ type job and afford an apartment. Ronald Reagan began the downfall of the
middle class and the low class workers when he took the cost of housing out of
the cost of living index. Housing cost rose substantially after this.
